Sephora Haul and First Impressions:

Tatcha Smooth, Poreless Skin Obento Box:

$79 before discount

My love for Tatcha skincare has been well documented for years now.  The brand to me is luxury personified with their stunning packaging and beautiful products.  There are various Tatcha gift sets currently available at Sephora but I ultimately decided on picking up this specific set because I’ve tried and tested all three products and enjoy them immensely.  I’ve gone through numerous minis of the Water Cream moisturizer which is a gel to cream formula that when applied to the face, bursts into a dose of hydration which even supplies my normal to dry skin with suppleness.  The Silk Canvas primer has been my go-to primer lately because of how beautifully makeup lays on top.  It helps blur pores while giving an overall smooth base for makeup application.  The Deep Cleanser works at really purifying the skin without stripping it of its moisture.

At times, it is difficult to judge the size of products just based on pictures alone so to help guide you on the size of the products included in this set, this is a comparison shot of the products included (the larger products) and their respective minis that I already owned.  The only full sized product is the Water Cream moisturizer but as evidenced by this shot, the other two products are a very generous deluxe size.

Ouai Scalp and Body Scrub:

$38 before discount

Ouai’s haircare line has become one of my favorites over the past two years.  Ever since I received their Wave Spray in my Sephora Play subscription box, I have become obsessed with the scent of their products and how well they work for me.  First off, to describe my hair and scalp, I have thinning fine hair with an extremely dry scalp so I tend to get flakes.  My go to scrubs have been based in sea salt in the past which worked really well but tend to dry out my hair so when I saw that this was sugar and coconut oil based, I knew I had to jump on it immediately and I am so glad that I did!  I used it as a pre-cleanse before going in with my regular shampoo and conditioner (Nioxin) and luckily (or unluckily, I’m still not sure) I had a lot of flakes at the time so I really got to see if it would do the job.  Usually, people have scalp issues in the winter time but I notice it a lot in the summer time as well since I wear a headcover (hijab) and sweat gets trapped in my scalp.  This may be way too much information but I think some background and context help in framing the product review.  The main point being that the scrub did a phenomenal job at taking care of all the flakes in my first use, so much so that I was blown away and had my husband try it also since he has a flaky dry scalp as well.  He already asked me to buy a back up because between the signature amazing scent and the performance of the product, this is something we do not want to be without.

The sugar base along with coconut oil lends itself to a less abrasive texture.  First impressions, I thought the scent was phenomenal but I wondered if the texture would be exfoliating enough for my scalp.  It turned out to be the right consistency where the exfoliating particles were not too rough but effective at the same time.

Fresh Beauty Vitamin C Antioxidant Glow Face Mist:

$25 for the travel size (featured), $44 for full size before discount

If I had to choose only one skincare brand to use, Fresh Beauty would be it.  From their Soy cleanser to the Lotus Youth Preserve moisturizer and everything in between, they have stand out products throughout their line.  When they recently released additions to their Vitamin Nectar line, I knew I had to try out the face mist.  I’ve mentioned the Vitamin Nectar Vitamin C Glow face mask before and how it invigorates my senses in the morning with its orange marmalade texture inducing a sensorial experience, it is no surprise that this fine mist invokes the same.  Unlike most of my previous face mists, this delivers a continuous stream of product which lends itself to an even application.  I chose to go with the travel sized mist but I am thinking that a full sized purchase is in my future.

Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser:

$32 before discount

Ever since I ran out of my beloved Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser, I have been struggling with finding a cleanser that would not leave my skin feeling tight and dry.  Indie Lee is a brand I have seen mentioned on Instagram by some of my fellow skincare lovers but I had not tried anything previously.  The sale seemed like the perfect time to pick up their raved about Rosehip cleanser.  It has been soothing and refreshing while being non stripping.  One pump expresses enough product to gently lather and effectively remove all dirt and debris.  Since this article attests to my first impressions, I have not had a chance to try it to remove makeup yet but I will update my thoughts and impressions over on my Instagram feed so make sure you are following along.  Overall, I’m excited to try more from this line that is new to Sephora.

Urban Decay Naked Palette:

Being discontinued, $27 before discount

I have written about the discontinuation of the Urban Decay Naked palette previously so I won’t go into detail again but this iconic palette is being discontinued so if you are interested in picking it up, the extra discount makes this the perfect time.  At the time of writing this article, it is sold out online so I would check your local stores.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with my Sephora haul!  I restocked on some favorites and picked up some new products and everything has been working out extremely well which is rare!  Please keep in mind, these are my first impressions but I hope they are lasting ones.  What are you planning on picking up during this surprise Sephora sale?
